The response was overwhelming and this was extremely difficult to chose just one family. My team of judges and I chose a very deserving family and I hope to share their inspirational story and photos with you all soon. You know someone who's experienced a tragedy, is struggling to stay afloat, is raising kids while holding down more than one job, or is volunteering selflessly despite extenuating personal circumstances. You know someone who can't afford custom photography, but who would cherish it this holiday season. You know someone who deserves a year-round reminder of their family's spirit, love, and beauty.

You know someone. I guarantee it.

I want to know who they are, and I want to give them the chance to experience complimentary custom photography -- $1,000 worth, to be exact. This will include an archival CD with all the edited pictures from their session AND a $250 print credit. You have the power to give them the artwork they deserve this holiday season.

It is official...I am on vacation! After a crazy-busy holiday season, I am almost finished ordering, packaging, and shipping all of your orders. I will be on vacation from Dec. 15th-Jan. 3rd. I do have a few make up sessions during this time, so don't worry, I will still be there! I thought this title was important and a good way to remind people that I am also a mother...so when you are running a little late because of traffic--I understand. When your child pees in the garage...I understand. When you just want them to behave and smile pretty for the camera-just once!...I understand. When your friend brings you a bottle of wine because of how stressful it can be to get 4 kids ready for their pictures...I understand. And will you look at how cute these pictures turned out!!! The first time I met her, she was 9 months old. The last time I saw her, she was 5. And thanks to my photography, I got to see her again! She is now a senior at Webster High School and I got to take her senior pictures today. OMG is she beautiful...stunning. I had so much fun getting to know her again. I love sun glare. This was around 4:00 yesterday when the sun was starting to go down...what beautiful days we are having and some beautiful children to go with it.

This cracks me up. Her mom and I were laughing when she walked to this spot and did this pose and just looked at me...like, Ok, I am ready now-take my picture. :)
This picture was a rare moment--I was actually taking her sisters picture in the grass and she was waiting for me--I looked over and she was laying like this and snapped the pic. I love how the best pictures are the unexpected ones.
And then there was "T". He is almost one and holds his own in a family of girls! He is so proud in his wagon with his big boy haircut.

One thing I loved about this mornings session, it was as if I just dropped by on any given Sunday morning and this is how I found them. Natural and totally themselves---wearing clothes you would find them in on any day...and at the end of the session they got to wear their soccer uniforms. I love that. I love photographing kids exactly as they are today--and being able to look back on these pictures and remembering them that way. Not in a stuffy outfit, no fancy shoes...but just as they are. I love that.

Finally getting caught up from this weekend...sorry for the delay, but here is your sneak peak "K" family! These 2 sisters had all kinds of fun with me--I photographed their pretend wedding, a fairy tale ball and we wrapped the day with a tea party! I love this picture below. As much as a love photographs, I love children's artwork...and the two together is priceless. She was so proud to show me her Halloween bag that she made.

The next one is half way through the session. "Okay, she is nice and this is kind of fun! We can show her how cute we are."
And this one was the very last picture of the day--and you can see why. "Alright lady, if you want us, come get us!"

Urban Session

Tonight I had an "urban session" in Downtown Kirkwood! What a great spot for pictures--my new favorite place. We found so many cool alleys, doorways, dumpsters and brick walls! Do they not look like models for Gap Kids!? Sweet, sweet sisters that I love very much.

Oh my gosh, I love this picture of T! You go girl!!
Look at this face...I can not even tell you how proud I am of her. Her name is Marik. She is 10 years old. She is the daughter of one of my best friends in the world. She had Leukemia. She was really sick. She had a heart transplant 16 months ago. She is brave. She is beautiful. She has taught me so much. It is with such honor and pleasure that I am able to photograph her smile, her eyes, her heart. I love you, Marik.

A few minutes after meeting me, this little guy (14 months) walked right up to me and gave me a hug--so sweet! I had fun chasing him in his front yard until I started singing the ABC's--that got his attention so I was able to get some pictures.

When I was leaving last night's session--the three year old told me I was the best photographer ever! That was the best compliment I have ever gotten! :)

Her older sister was secretly a professional model, I am sure. She knew all these poses and gave me lots of ideas of where to take her picture! I think she's got it...
At the end of the session their Mom let them pick one outfit--whatever they wanted. I love that he picked his Nike soccer outfit and chose to sit on his John Deere Tractor! I love it! So much fun--thank you!

Every day I am grateful that I am able to do what I am so passionate about. I love my job. I love children. I love how magical pictures can be and I love seeing the joy it can bring to people. Hard to believe summer is almost over--or is already over, depending how you look at it. Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

Boy + 9 years old = trouble ...and I have 2! He could not have been any cuter in his hat and Gap t-shirt! I was watching him the entire time with one eye closed as he did stunts and everything else boys do at 9 years old. Oh. am I in for it!
I forgot how much teenage girls love their bedrooms! I know I did!
This was one of the last shots of the day--she begged me to get a picture taken with her dog--she loves her dog. I think this is such a sweet picture!

I had a wonderful morning with "A" today! She is another one of my "Babies First Year" babies. Mom was popping out behind the bed playing peek-a-boo in this one--she loved it.

I love the proud look on her face in this one--you can tell she thinks she is so cool standing up on her own...
I am always jealous of baby and mom pictures--guess who is never in any pictures in my house...I love these intimate moments.

I met these two sisters last year, right before their big move across the country to Virginia! Well, they came back to visit their Grandparents and called me to take pictures again! I was honored...They also brought along their cousins from Denver!

This one below was in a garage-- I love garages--I have mentioned that before....but I do!

This is my son's friend from preschool last year and his little brother. SO glad I had the opportunity to take their pictures! I have to tell this story. My son had a speech delay and did not talk AT ALL--"M" on the other hand was using complete sentences very early. The only thing my son would say was"na na na na na" when he was trying to communicate. I will never forget the day when M walked over to Tate, looked him in the eye and said, "Na na na na na". My heart melted. They had an instant connection and although Tate could not talk back--they were great friends!

This little guy was minutes away from his big 1st birthday party! Lots of balloons and thomas the train fun! Last time I saw him he was 3 months old--which seems like yesterday...Happy Birthday!

This little baby girl was born a few weeks early and is so sweet and itty bitty! She was perfect this morning--did not make a sound! We had her in all kinds of poses and she slept the entire time---which is exactly why I do newborns within that first week!

Thank you Mom, Dad and Nana! We had fun! I think Nana said --"This is the best entertainment!" I agree!

Happy 1st Birthday! After a crazy morning...my sitter was sick (hope your better Ashley) and found a friend to save the day (thank you Carrie!) I was able to meet "C". I found this necklace in the dollar bin at Target and was excited to have a little girl to photograph soon! I think she likes it too!
My absolute favorite shots are CLOSE UPS! I love her smile with those newly cut teeth and her bright blue eyes! She has a great spirit about her!

It's official--my baby is a big boy... turned 2 today! Made his favorite color cupcakes--YELLOW! Actually, everything is yellow. If you ask him how old he is...he's yellow. :) I think he just likes to say the word.

We just returned from a destination wedding in Playa del Carmen, Mexico! It was straight out of Martha Stewart or InStyle Magazine! These pictures do not do it justice (and I can't figure out how to make them bigger) but it was picture perfect! The entire weekend could not have been better--good people, good weather, good food, good times! Congratulations T&T!!

The Secret Location...

I always tell parents, if the kids are old enough, to go get some things done inside and I will take the kids for pictures. I do this for several reasons, and one of them is because we always find fun locations. Parents would think I am crazy--the kids just think it is fun. This is one of them. Our secret location...the garage. Garage's have the best lighting and usually some cool textures. These two pictures were both taken in the garage. These kids were so much fun!! Thanks guys for a great night!
